Jess Hough is a local artist/handyman. She spends most of her time plein air drawing out in the red rock desert, making traditional intaglio prints on her homemade printing press, making paper, and building hand made frames for her art.
In 2023 Jess was selected to be resident Community Artist in the Parks, a local program which partners artists with the national parks and monuments of Southeast Utah.
Much of this collection was created during her time out in the parks doing demos of print making and plein air drawing.
Art print is 5” x 7” and comes matted ready for an 8” x10” frame.
”Pine Tree arch” - Arches national Park
”Pine tree Arch is hidden away on a little detour from the trail through Devil’s garden in Arches. It’s a cool peaceful little spot, sheltered between big fins of rock. While i was working on this drawing on a chilly October morning, it stayed dark and shady until almost noon. The whole area felt like it was focused on the light coming through the arch, all the shade making it feel extra bright.”
