Jess Hough is a local artist/handyman. She spends most of her time plein air drawing out in the red rock desert, making traditional intaglio prints on her homemade printing press, making paper, and building hand made frames for her art.
In 2023 Jess was selected to be resident Community Artist in the Parks, a local program which partners artists with the national parks and monuments of Southeast Utah.
Much of this collection was created during her time out in the parks doing demos of print making and plein air drawing.
Art print is 5” x 7” and comes matted ready for an 8” x10” frame.
“Double Arch” - Arches National Park
“I think double arch is the only landscape feature I’ve ever seen that looks better in the middle of the day than at sunrise. There’s just so much going on in the shapes and textures, it makes its own drama.I worked on this drawing in several 4-hour chunks throughout the year and got to see these rocks do a ton of cool things in all those different kinds of light”
