Jess Hough is a local artist/handyman. She spends most of her time plein air drawing out in the red rock desert, making traditional intaglio prints on her homemade printing press, making paper, and building hand made frames for her art.
In 2023 Jess was selected to be resident Community Artist in the Parks, a local program which partners artists with the national parks and monuments of Southeast Utah.
Much of this collection was created during her time out in the parks doing demos of print making and plein air drawing.
Art print is 5” x 7” and comes matted, ready for an 8” x 10” frame.
“Juniper Tree” - Dead Horse State Park
“When i first came through southern Utah in 2016, I couldn’t stop talking pictures of all the Junipers. They’re such iconic trees, and they adapt so well to all the different conditions they end up in, it seems no two are the same. I think there’s a metaphor in there somewhere. This specific tree lives at Dead Horse State Park. Say hi for me if you see it!”
