Kara Davis
Kara Davis is a traveling artist and the creator behind Hiking.Girl.Artist, known for work inspired by the landscapes she explores on foot.
A graduate of the University of Hawai‘i with a B.A. in Art, her process begins on the trail—capturing moments of light, color, and place through photography that later evolve into acrylic paintings and small-format wearable art. Each piece is rooted in real locations and reflects a personal connection to the miles behind it.
Kara and her husband Rickey split their time between the American West and their home base in the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia, drawing inspiration from diverse and ever-changing landscapes.
Kara has additional work on display at Vinícola Wine Bar in Front Royal, VA and is the is resident artist at Three Foxes Vineyard and Farm Brewery located in Delaplane, VA.
Her work was featured in Daughter of the Stars, part of the Women Artists of the DMV exhibition at Melissa Ichiuji Studio Gallery—a regional collaboration of over 600 women artists across 19 venues in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (October 18–December 7 2025).
