Jess Hough is a local artist/handyman. She spends most of her time plein air drawing out in the red rock desert, making traditional intaglio prints on her homemade printing press, making paper, and building hand made frames for her art.
In 2023 Jess was selected to be resident Community Artist in the Parks, a local program which partners artists with the national parks and monuments of Southeast Utah.
Much of this collection was created during her time out in the parks doing demos of print making and plein air drawing.
Art print is 5” x 7” and comes matted ready for an 8” x10” frame.
“Chesler Loop Trail” - Canyonlands - Needles District
”This hike is the first one I did in needles. Hiking through smaller canyons and washes until you get to the loop with all it’s huge towers of stone rising up out of grassy fields is an unreal experience. It felt like the trail started in a national park and and somehow dropped me on a totally different planet while i wasn’t paying attention.”
