Josie Moe | Desert Analog
Hello! I'm Josie, the photographer behind Desert Analog. After initially moving to Moab to pursue a career in biology and native plant restoration, I found that my real passion lies in capturing the environment through photo rather than analytical data. My love of desert flora is the main driver of my work, but any element of the ephemeral nature of the desert is what constantly inspires me. The changing seasons, catching black stormy skies and fleeting rainbows, and watching the way the light slides across canyons, along with classic southwestern motifs, will always be a magical phenomenon that I want to share with others. I shoot mostly film, and I choose to keep any artifacts from that process including scratches, light leaks, and grain. They make each photo unique and hopefully add to the feeling of being there in that moment in time.
